The use of social perspectives is the study of human social life. Using different social perspectives to shed light on human life and interactions with others, has many sub-sections of study, ranging from the analysis of conversations to the development of theories to try to understand how the entire world works in the 21st Century. This series advocates why it is important and how it can change people’s social perspectives of the world around you, and give a 21st century grounding of the theme that can be investigated from social science disciplines and theories: sociology, social gerontology, political science, management studies, geography, international relations, psychology and economics and the important social exclusion themes that shine light on our perspectives of the world in which we live: age(ing), race, class, gender, sexuality, and disability – these impact on social issues such as health, education, employment, pensions, pandemics and crime. Of course, these phenomena do not just take place in western culture, they are global in their holistic understanding. The series seeks edited collections or monographs from North America, South America, Europe, Asia and Africa that can provide enriching comparative and global insights to the book series. Social Perspectives are important to the social sciences that uses systematic methods of empirical investigation and critical analysis to develop and refine a body of knowledge about human social structure and activity. Hence, the key aim of this book series is to apply such knowledge to the pursuit of understanding the world in which we currently live, in the 21st Century.
About Series Editor:
Professor Jason Powell is a distinguished social scientist. He is currently Visiting Professor at University of Chester. He also holds an Adjunct Professorship at McMaster University; Honorary Professor at Tasmania University; and Distinguished Honorary Professor at MSU. He holds a PhD in Social Gerontology. Professor Powell is currently ranked 1st Most Cited Educator in the World for research citations on health and social care, age, Foucault and sociology of aging (Google Scholar). He has an H-Index Score of 101. He has almost 30 years’ experience of publishing and editing top ranked articles, review and chapters. In total, he has over 700 publications including 82 academic books mainly that focus on the social science and aging. He is formerly a Provost, Dean, 6x Associate Dean, Associate Head of School, Head of Department and a 5x Full Professor in the UK.
