Abstract

This research analyses how the Technical Building Code (CTE) was implemented in Spain, according to the European rules, in 2006 in order to have shared standards for building design and contextualism in response to the building’s specific urban and natural environment. First, the Real Estate bubble boom had reached its peak in 2007 and, as a result, an unprecedented real-estate crisis began. The objective of this study is to reflect on how that moment in time marked a before and after in architecture and city design because the aforementioned implementation of the CTE included health, hygiene, and sustainability measures that were established in their respective regulations. This chapter presents a study of time cycles that apply to the Real Estate Market and indicates the measures needed during the next major crisis in the European Real Estate sector.
