Dr. Rajani Srivastava is Assistant Professor in Environmental Science (Env. Tech.), Institute of Environment & Sustainable Development, Rajiv Gandhi South Campus, Banaras Hindu University, Mirzapur, India. She has more than fifteen years of teaching experience and has received many awards in academic fields. Her research interest includes agroecosystem ecology, weed ecology; sustainable agriculture; soil organic matter management and restoration of soil fertility. She has published two books and more than 60 scholarly publications in national and international peer-reviewed journals and attended more than 55 national and international seminars/conferences/workshops. She is also on the board of several prestigious journals, namely, Journal of Plant Nutrition & Soil Science (Elsevier); Weed Biology and Management (Wiley) and Ecological Indicators (Elsevier). She is the recipient of the best poster presentation award of the Young Scientist category at the International symposium and recipient of the Best Paper Presenter Award in Ecology by the Indian Botanical Society (Meerut, 2000) and SEDER (2018). She also received the Best teacher award at the state level in Lucknow, India. She got Research Associate-ship under the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate change on soil organic matter management for sustainable agroecosystems by regulating decomposition and nutrient release of added leaves of tree species. Presently, she is a member of OWSD (Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World) and IUCN (CEM: commission on ecosystem Management).
