Automatic Control of Hydraulic Systems

For industrial, automotive, and aeronautical applications, hydraulic actuators and hydraulic valves have an essential role to deliver and regulate forces and moments. The evolution of hydraulic systems to cover the demands of Industry 4.0 through the digitation of hydraulic valves makes the automatic control of hydraulic actuators crucial for production lines and processes. This book focus on automatic control algorithms for hydraulic actuators (robust tracking controllers, flatness-based control approach, optimized fuzzy sliding mode controllers, neural network and nonlinear disturbance observers)

Understanding Kashmir Lakes: Water Quality, Biodiversity, Deterioration, Encroachment, and Vision for their Protection and Restoration.

The main and important focus of the book is to address issues related to the deterioration of Kashmir lakes. This book will raise awareness about the plight of the important Kashmir lakes and the measures for their protection and restoration. Until now, there is no book or book chapter, or review available in the literature that reports the issues that we are addressing in this book. Besides, the research that has been carried out on Kashmir lakes has not been reviewed, and thus we have reviewed the available literature on Kashmir lakes for the benefit of mankind and the scientific community. The description of the water quality, biodiversity and deterioration of Kashmir lakes in Chapters 2-6 will be greatly helpful to readers. Besides, Chapter 7, wherein the scientific vision for the protection and restoration of Kashmir lakes has been discussed shall direct the researchers and government agencies for the development of protocols for the protection of these important Kashmir lakes.

Understanding Kashmir Lakes: Water Quality, Biodiversity, Deterioration, Encroachment, and Vision for their Protection and Restoration.

Last three decades have witnessed serious deterioration of major Kashmir lakes (Wular, Dal, Nigeen, Anchar and Manasbal) due to pollution of their water and large-scale encroachment in their surroundings. Quite a good amount of research work has been carried out on the growing state of deterioration of the above named five indispensable lakes of Kashmir valley. This book gives a glimpse of the overview of these lakes along with a discussion of their water quality, diversity of flora and fauna, deterioration, state of encroachment, and the vision for their protection and restoration. This book will raise awareness about the plight of the important Kashmir lakes and the measures for their protection and restoration. Interestingly, this book compiles the most recent information on the water quality, biodiversity and the state of deterioration of the five major indispensable lakes of Kashmir valley. The discussion of the scientific vision for the protection and restoration of Kashmir lakes will greatly help our book to become a standout choice for the readers.

My first NOVA book chapter

About the book: “This is a worth-reading book about the recent developments in Linear Algebra and it includes contributions of fourteen authors from all over the world. The themes analyzed by the researchers in the ten chapters include quadratic optimization, matrix pencils, generalized inverses, matrix equations, maximal and minimal ranks and inertias, triangular matrices (tables) […]

Can we prevent future building damage from sulfides in aggregates?

In recent years, tens of thousands of homes, commercial and institutional buildings have sustained severe structural damage due to the aggregates used in construction not being inert. An excess of naturally occurring reactive iron sulfides in the rock, is all that it takes to cause devastation within a few years of construction. These largescale problems have occurred in the United States, Canada and Ireland, despite these countries having well established building codes and standards. A new book explores how excess sulfides, mainly pyrite and pyrrhotite, in aggregates can be defined and identified in advance and it describes how the risk of future damage can be quantified. In keeping with the theme of Pyrite & Pyrrhotite, the book will also feature some innovative research into sustainable uses of pyrite.

Neogene Deep Water Benthic Foraminifera and their importance in paleoceanography in the Indian Ocean

This monograph comprises 12 chapters starting from Introduction to microhabitats, taxonomy and biostratigraphy. The main focus is on Classification and Taxonomic descriptions of deep water benthic foraminifera from the Indian Ocean, with brrief introduction on microhabitats and water mass associations.

BOOK TITLE: Sustainable and Healthy Building Environments

This book addresses a topic of great relevance today, considering that in developed countries, most of the time is spent indoors; therefore, indoor residential environments have a direct influence on human health. Furthermore, in developing countries, significant levels of indoor pollution make housing unsafe, which has an impact on the health of its inhabitants; thus, housing is a key factor in the health of people around the world. In this book we look at a range of innovative research and evidence-based policy ideas that demonstrate the importance of housing research and policy for health and well-being.
