Researcher, The University of Edinburgh Institute of Zhejiang University

Prasanth Manohar is a researcher, journal editor, and author of many research and review articles in microbiology. Most of his research falls within the areas of bacteriophage biology and bacteriology. Prasanth received his PhD from the Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), India, after earning an MSc from Sri Ramachandra University (SRIHER), India. Following his PhD, he had post-doctoral training at the Leptihn's Lab at Zhejiang University-University of Edinburgh Institute (ZJE), People's Republic of China. His areas of research expertise include but are not limited to bacteriophage biology, phage therapy, phage-host interaction, endolysins, antibiotic resistance, small animal models, and phageome. He has made considerable contributions to phage research, and he is also a motivational speaker. As a young, dynamic researcher, he wants to develop phage therapy as an alternative medicine against bacterial infections. He has acquired innovative ideas to establish phage therapy against antibiotic-resistant infections with clinicians in India. He has a broad research network with global collaborations and interdisciplinary research in material science and biomedical engineering.
