Laverov Federal Center for Integrated Arctic Research, expert on aquatic microbiology, sewage microbiology, and hydrochemistry of lakes and rivers in the Arctic and Subarctic zone, and hydrology, hydrochemistry, and ecology of the river-sea mixing zone, with a special focus on nitrogen cycle. She created the laboratory on aquatic microbiology at the Federal Center and led numerous national programs and grants on lakes of the Arkhangelsk Region (Kenozersky National Park), organized limnological expeditions in the NW Russian Subarctic and boreal zone. She published more than 60 papers on lake hydrochemistry, ecosystem assessment and hydrobiology.
