Dr. Eleni G. Makri is currently affiliated with University College Dublin and Insight SFI Research Centre for Data Analytics which launched H2020 Opening Doors (Opportunities and Education in Networked Innovation for New Graduates with PhDs using Open Online Resources) enterprise. Her academic and research background includes graduate studies in social and organizational psychology in the United Kingdom and the best doctoral research award in psychology. Active in tutoring ICT behavioural change modules based on flipped approach at undergraduate and postgraduate levels cross-disciplinary and cross-culturally. Previously involved in H2020 Newton and FP7 Metalogue research projects. Metalogue delivered a personalised multimodal embodied conversational agent’s system with metacognitive abilities for win-win negotiation in favour of interdisciplinary education and training. Newton deployed innovative solutions (AR/VR, fab labs, mulsemedia, gamification) for STEM education triggered by diverse pedagogy (problem-based learning, flipped approach, game-based) and spanned across different learners, involving special education students. Her research interests focus on ICT and behavioural change in graduate education and training, including individual, community (civics) and organizational-level attributes in online teaching and learning across disciplines.
